Hiya Fam!
Guess what?
It happened again!! We
were told that the GARDA card would be done today, but by Saturday no one had
received the necessary papers to do so. So it was cancelled! I meant to send a
message about it yesterday, but oh well. But hey, at least we didn't have to
wake up at 4 in the morning to wait in line for 5 hours.
Anyways, this week
has been discouraging again. St and S C never got back in contact with us, and
didn't come to church. We had a few investigators drop us, like L and M. And
most everybody was too busy to meet up anyways.
I'm worried about St. Unless we get in
contact with him this week, and actually have a good lesson, we're probably
going to drop him. :/ i'm worried about him just not being an investigator for the
right reasons.
We do have one
shining moment though! We had a lesson with A where we went over the Plan of
Salvation again. It was really good and we were able to answer all her
questions. For whatever reason, we didn't feel that it was time to get her with
a date. But we're in the process of figuring out when we can meet with her
again!!
We met with Ch also.
We were going to teach him the Plan of Salvation as well, but he wanted to
learn more about the Book of Mormon. He had a lot of questions about it, and we
did our best to answer them and to testify that he can learn if it's true. He
said it was too early for him to accept a baptismal date yet, but we'll meet
with him this week and figure out how ready he would be anyways. I'm not sure about Ch. But Co
sounds great. We should be seeing her
on Tuesday. She lives in Arklow. Google Arklow and see how far that is from
Bray. That's the edge of our boundary. It's FAR! Ha!
The C's, they never pick up when I call. Sister J said that a few of her
friends have died, but she's coming to a Relief Society activity Tuesday night.
We'll see how that goes.
P still needs to pay tithing. He needs a
tithing slip.
Those were the only lessons we had with investigators this
week. I have no idea what's been going on, but we just have not been able to
meet up with people! I was
going through our area book, and just marvelled at how crazy this area
is!!
BUT THIS WEEK WILL BE
BETTER!!!!
We're going to meet
with people, we're going to have great lessons, and we're going to get them baptized!!
Yeah!
Rosalyn had a seizure!!!!! That
must have been terrifying!!! I can't even imagine what that must have been like
for them!!! :S
I didn't have time to search for my scriptures on Tuesday,
but I should this coming Tuesday. Keep praying that I'll find them! Personal
Study just hasn't been the same... :/ I
haven't been able to search anywhere except the train. And I can't bear the
thought that I might have left them on public transit! I really need a miracle
here. Those things are so special. :/
I do have one story
to tell. On Saturday we walked into the flat because it was really cold outside
and I was going to put on another layer. The moment we walked in we were hit by
a terrible stench. I thought it was some rotten food that I'd been postponing
to throw out. But we finally found out the problem: some chili a member had
given us. They'd put it in a Tupperware, but the container had tipped over and
the juices had seeped out and gotten all over the floor of our kitchen! It
absolutely reeked!!! We went to the nearby Tesco to get some cleaning supplies,
and when we came back, we could smell the stench several meters before reaching
the house!!! It was BAD. It took a while to get rid of the stench!! But as bad
as it was, when we were done cleaning it out, mopping up the place, it was like
a fresh brand new flat! It was so clean and nice! It was like walking into a
completely different place!!
Can you detect the
spiritual overtones of that story?
Undoubtedly, that
stench had been there before, but we got too used to it. Until finally the
stench got too much for us to bear. If we had just taken care of that mess
early on, it would have only taken no longer than two minutes to clean up.
Instead it took almost two hours. It's like sin. The more we postpone our
repentance, the easier it is to "lull [ourselves] into a false sense of
security". I love the quote "it's better to prepare and prevent, than
to repair and repent." So true. Even so, no matter how hard it is to clean
up that sin, to wipe it clean, once it is done, it is a whole new life for that
person. They are brand new. So there's a lot of spiritual stuff to be learned
from that even!
And yes, it is a
funny story too. ha ha
My companion is SO MUCH LIKE ME. It's scary, honestly. There's positives
and negatives about that. On the one hand, we get along great. On the other, it
really opens my eyes to some of the things I do. But overall, he's great. I'm
enjoying our time together. We just gotta get our act together and just whip
Bray back into shape! :)
I like the sound of your week!
Just service, service, service!
Anyways, love you all! Hope you all have a great week! Pray for
us to find new investigators. That's the main thing. But if you could pray that
we could get in contact with S C, that would be great too.
We're going to have a
fantastic week!! We're going to find someone that's ready to be taught the
Restored Gospel! :D
